Electronic music in the minimalist and aleatoric style written and recorded in February 2018. The musical building blocks were improvisation, loops, randomness, and a vague story line. Orfeo is the legendary singer from Greek mythology who could tame beasts and even move the heart of the Hades - god of the underworld. Why do I imagine him wandering in the desert? He has failed in his quest to bring his true love back to the world of the living, so he wanders in a land with little water. Sometime soon Apollo (god of music) will scoop him up into heaven, but he doesn't know that yet.

Kenny Blacklock is a composer and multi-instrumentalist based in Northern California. He started writing music in his early teens, at first chamber music in imitation of classical composers, then later jazz fusion and progressive rock. He purchased his first synthesizer, a Yamaha SY22, in 1991 and started writing electronic music using a 16-track sequencer and a 4-track cassette recorder. ... more
